FAQ
WHO IS IT FOR?
Recommended for children 6 months old to 6 years old who CANNOT roll to float independently yet. (If your child is an independent swimmer, you can sign up for our regular classes, Level 2+).
WHAT ARE LESSONS LIKE?
Each lesson is 1-on-1 with your child and the instructor. Lessons are 10 minutes long and will take place Mon-Thurs for approximately 6 weeks, until the child can perform all the skills by themselves (could take up to 8 weeks). In order to gain independence, children need to repeat motor skills on a daily basis.
Your child will be gently introduced to the water by their instructor. The instructor will work with him/her to guide them through the lesson process and build a level of trust and comfort in the water. For younger children (15 or 16 months and younger), we will teach your child to roll to their back to float. For those that are older than 16 months, we will teach your child to swim with their face in the water, roll to their back, and then swim to the side of the pool. Infants and young children are transformed from being totally helpless in the water into confident, capable swimmers in just a matter of weeks!
WHEN IS IT?
We offer sessions year-round — two in the Spring, two in the Summer and two in the Fall.
WHERE WILL LESSONS BE?
Summer lessons will be held at an outdoor pool in Woodway. Fall/Spring lessons will be held at Best Western Woodway pool.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
$105 per week, plus an $80 registration fee. Tuition fees will be broken up into three payments.
Payment #1 - Due at registration: $185
Payment #2 - Due first day of class: $262.50
Payment #3 - Due at beginning of Week 4: $262.50
Meet Mrs. Lynsey
Lynsey has a love for all things athletic. She coaches volleyball and has been a swim instructor for more than a year. Last year she ran in an ultramarathon and wonders if a triathlon may be in her future. Lynsey has three daughters (9, 6 and 3) that keep her and her husband, JD, on their toes. She loves the growth process that happens in community, whether that's on a court, in a pool, or on the journey of life.
From a parent:
"I loved that I was able to watch and connect with Lynsey a little during each lesson. I was able to pick up and learn the techniques she used to teach our son to float so we could practice on our own at home. I also gained confidence in allowing my son to "find his float" in the water on his own. The class was a big time commitment, but the peace of mind I have when we are around water is priceless."
